Hello,

You will be reading this because there is a problem connection Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD) to your radio. Portmon is an excellent program which will record all COM port information which you can send to simon@hb9drv.ch for analysis.

The Steps:

[1] Unpack this zip file into the folder of your choice.

[2] Close any programs connected to your radio.

[3] Start Portmon.exe

[4] Make sure these options are set:

    Menu      Option           State / Comment
    ----------------------------------------
    Options   Show Time       ON
    Options   Show HEX        ON  if ICOM, Yaesu or TenTec
                              OFF if Elecraft, Kenwood.
                              ON  if you are not sure (I read hex) :-)
    Options   Clock Time      OFF

    Computer - select your local computer

    Capture   Ports           The COM port where you have connected
                              the interface to your radio, select
                              only one COM port to avoid confusion.
    Capture   Capture Events  ON
    
[5] Start HRD, connect to your radio. You will see output similar to Boris.log in this zip file.

[6] Let HRD run for about 60 seconds while you perform your tests.

[7] Stop HRD (File: Disconnect).

[8] In Portmon set the Capture: Capture Events option to OFF.

[9] Save the logfile to disk, put into a zip file if possible and send to simon@hb9drv.ch all I'll be able to analyse this.
